One of the noble objectives was to establish an educational institution under “The Calcutta Barisha Good Shepherd Mission.” With an absolute noble and outstanding cause, an educational institution with an absolute different ideology.
In this regard the Founders of the Calcutta Barisha Good Shepherd Mission, Shepherd George Kumbanaden and Shepherdess Grace George began an English medium co-educational school in the year 1989 in a beautiful small building at 8D, Bhattacharjee Para Road. The medium English was selected so that children can master themselves in every sphere of life confidently.
Every child is looked after in every sphere of his and her life, they are brought up in a special way so that they can face the everyday challenges in the outside world.
Due to special care by gifted teachers, the number of students increased by good number. Without delay the school had to be shifted to a bigger place. The school had been shifted to 680 Diamond Harbour Road, Calcutta-700 063, during this period the reputation of the Good Shepherd Mission School spread to many parts of Behala, Thakurpukur, and many other parts of Calcutta and even outskirts of West Bengal.
Parents started to admit their children and the number kept on increasing and increasing. In this high time one of the enthusiastic guardians very much inspired by our method of education invited us to shift the school to 2A, Kenaram Ganguly Road, Calcutta-700 008, in an old building to continue this noble cause in a much better way with more facilities. Praise the Lord.
In 1995 the Mission committee started seeking the N.O.C. from the West Bengal Educational department. After a long struggle and with unending prayers, our almighty God gave us the answer i.e. in 1998 the Good Shepherd School had obtained the N.O.C.
Without delay The Calcutta Barisha Good Shepherd Mission deposited the needful documents at the C.B.S.E. office in Delhi.
With fervent prayer and fasting the Good Shepherd Mission School received the esteem affiliation to the C.B.S.E. for which we remain faithful and abide to all their laws and bye-laws.
The Calcutta Barisha Good Shepherd Mission started the construction for the new building with new facilities.
Now the construction is over with a library, computers and well equipped science laboratories.
There are qualified, dedicated and caring teachers, the school has also an excellent administrative body, and also clean and dutiful ayas.
There are four houses in which the total school children are divided into:
SHAKESPEARE
BUNTAIN

The school makes sure that the students are always involved in extra curricular activities like games, quizzes, music, singing, drama, story writing, elocution, debates, art (drawing, pastel colors, water colors, glass painting, etc.) and craft (handicrafts, embroidery designing, pottery, etc.)
